Then said Zedekiah unto Jeremiah [03414], Let no man know of these words, and thou shalt not die.

Then came all the princes unto Jeremiah [03414], and asked him: and he told them according to all these words that the king had commanded. So they left off speaking with him; for the matter was not perceived.

So Jeremiah [03414] abode in the court of the prison until the day that Jerusalem was taken : and he was there when Jerusalem was taken.

Now Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon gave charge concerning Jeremiah [03414] to Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard, saying,

Even they sent, and took Jeremiah [03414] out of the court of the prison, and committed him unto Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan, that he should carry him home : so he dwelt among the people.

Now the word of the LORD came unto Jeremiah [03414], while he was shut up in the court of the prison, saying,

The word that came to Jeremiah [03414] from the LORD, after that Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had let him go from Ramah, when he had taken him being bound in chains among all that were carried away captive of Jerusalem and Judah, which were carried away captive unto Babylon.

And the captain of the guard took Jeremiah [03414], and said unto him, The LORD thy God hath pronounced this evil upon this place.

Then went Jeremiah [03414] unto Gedaliah the son of Ahikam to Mizpah; and dwelt with him among the people that were left in the land.

And said unto Jeremiah [03414] the prophet, Let, we beseech thee, our supplication be accepted before thee, and pray for us unto the LORD thy God, even for all this remnant; (for we are left but a few of many, as thine eyes do behold us:)

Then Jeremiah [03414] the prophet said unto them, I have heard you; behold, I will pray unto the LORD your God according to your words; and it shall come to pass, that whatsoever thing the LORD shall answer you, I will declare it unto you; I will keep nothing back from you.

Then they said to Jeremiah [03414], The LORD be a true and faithful witness between us, if we do not even according to all things for the which the LORD thy God shall send thee to us.

And it came to pass, that when Jeremiah [03414] had made an end of speaking unto all the people all the words of the LORD their God, for which the LORD their God had sent him to them, even all these words,

Then spake Azariah the son of Hoshaiah, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the proud men, saying unto Jeremiah [03414], Thou speakest falsely : the LORD our God hath not sent thee to say, Go not into Egypt to sojourn there:

Then all the men which knew that their wives had burned incense unto other gods, and all the women that stood by, a great multitude, even all the people that dwelt in the land of Egypt, in Pathros, answered Jeremiah [03414], saying,

Then Jeremiah [03414] said unto all the people, to the men, and to the women, and to all the people which had given him that answer, saying,

Moreover Jeremiah [03414] said unto all the people, and to all the women, Hear the word of the LORD, all Judah that are in the land of Egypt :

The word which Jeremiah [03414] the prophet commanded Seraiah the son of Neriah, the son of Maaseiah, when he went with Zedekiah the king of Judah into Babylon in the fourth year of his reign. And this Seraiah was a quiet prince.

Zedekiah was one and twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Hamutal the daughter of Jeremiah [03414] of Libnah.
