Ge 23:2 C D S T R K And Sarah died in Kirjatharba; the same is Hebron in the land of Canaan: and Abraham came to mourn for Sarah, and to weep for her. And Sarah died in Kirjath-Arba: that is Hebron, in the land of Canaan. And Abraham came to mourn for Sarah, and to weep for her.
Ge 23:3 C D S T R K And Abraham stood up from before his dead, and spake unto the sons of Heth, saying, And Abraham rose up from before his dead, and spoke to the sons of Heth, saying,
Ge 23:4 C D S T R K I am a stranger and a sojourner with you: give me a possession of a buryingplace with you, that I may bury my dead out of my sight. I am a stranger and a sojourner with you; give me a possession of a sepulchre with you, that I may bury my dead from before me.
Ge 23:5 C D S T And the children of Heth answered Abraham, saying unto him, And the sons of Heth answered Abraham, saying to him,
Ge 23:6 C D S T R Hear us, my lord: thou art a mighty prince among us: in the choice of our sepulchres bury thy dead; none of us shall withhold from thee his sepulchre, but that thou mayest bury thy dead. Hear us, my lord: thou art a prince of God among us: in the choicest of our sepulchres bury thy dead: none of us shall withhold from thee his sepulchre for burying thy dead.
Ge 23:7 C D S T R And Abraham stood up, and bowed himself to the people of the land, even to the children of Heth. And Abraham rose up, and bowed down to the people of the land, to the sons of Heth,
Ge 23:8 C D S T R And he communed with them, saying, If it be your mind that I should bury my dead out of my sight; hear me, and intreat for me to Ephron the son of Zohar, and spoke to them, saying, If it be your will that I should bury my dead from before me, hear me, and entreat for me Ephron the son of Zohar,
Ge 23:9 C D S T R K That he may give me the cave of Machpelah, which he hath, which is in the end of his field; for as much money as it is worth he shall give it me for a possession of a buryingplace amongst you. that he may give me the cave of Machpelah, which is his, which is at the end of his field; for the full money let him give it to me amongst you for a possession of a sepulchre.
Ge 23:10 C D S T R K And Ephron dwelt among the children of Heth: and Ephron the Hittite answered Abraham in the audience of the children of Heth, even of all that went in at the gate of his city, saying, And Ephron was dwelling among the sons of Heth. And Ephron the Hittite answered Abraham, in the ears of the sons of Heth, even of all that went in at the gate of his city, saying,
Ge 23:11 C D S T R K Nay, my lord, hear me: the field give I thee, and the cave that is therein, I give it thee; in the presence of the sons of my people give I it thee: bury thy dead. No, my lord: hear me. The field give I thee; and the cave that is in it, to thee I give it; before the eyes of the sons of my people give I it thee: bury thy dead.
Ge 23:12 C D S T R And Abraham bowed down himself before the people of the land. And Abraham bowed down before the people of the land;
Ge 23:13 C D S T R And he spake unto Ephron in the audience of the people of the land, saying, But if thou wilt give it, I pray thee, hear me: I will give thee money for the field; take it of me, and I will bury my dead there. and he spoke to Ephron, in the ears of the people of the land, saying, But if only thou wouldst listen to me, I give the money for the field: take it of me, and I will bury my dead there.
Ge 23:14 C D S T And Ephron answered Abraham, saying unto him, And Ephron answered Abraham, saying to him,
Ge 23:15 C D S T R K My lord, hearken unto me: the land is worth four hundred shekels of silver; what is that betwixt me and thee? bury therefore thy dead. My lord, hearken to me. A field of four hundred shekels of silver, what is that between me and thee? bury therefore thy dead.
Ge 23:16 C D S T R K And Abraham hearkened unto Ephron; and Abraham weighed to Ephron the silver, which he had named in the audience of the sons of Heth, four hundred shekels of silver, current money with the merchant. And Abraham hearkened to Ephron; and Abraham weighed to Ephron the money that he had named in the ears of the sons of Heth -- four hundred shekels of silver, current with the merchant.
Ge 23:17 C D S T R And the field of Ephron, which was in Machpelah, which was before Mamre, the field, and the cave which was therein, and all the trees that were in the field, that were in all the borders round about, were made sure So the field of Ephron, which was at Machpelah, which was before Mamre, the field, and the cave that was in it, and all the trees that were in the field, that were in all its borders round about,
Ge 23:18 C D S T R Unto Abraham for a possession in the presence of the children of Heth, before all that went in at the gate of his city. were assured to Abraham for a possession before the eyes of the sons of Heth, before all who went in at the gate of his city.
Ge 23:19 C D S T R K And after this, Abraham buried Sarah his wife in the cave of the field of Machpelah before Mamre: the same is Hebron in the land of Canaan. And after this, Abraham buried Sarah his wife in the cave of the field at Machpelah, opposite to Mamre: that is Hebron, in the land of Canaan.
Ge 23:20 C D S T R And the field, and the cave that is therein, were made sure unto Abraham for a possession of a buryingplace by the sons of Heth. And the field and the cave that was in it were assured to Abraham for a possession of a sepulchre by the sons of Heth.
