Pr 24:11 Darby Deliver them that are taken forth unto death, and withdraw not from them that stagger to slaughter.
  King James If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain;

Neglect of known duty is sin (Jam 4:17).

ready--literally, "bowing down"

to be slain--that is, unjustly. God's retributive justice cannot be avoided by professed ignorance.
