Selected Verse: 2 Corinthians 11:21 - Strong Concordance

Verse         Translation Text
2Co 11:21 Strong Concordance I speak [3004] as concerning [2596] reproach [819], as [5613] though [3754] we [2249] had been weak [770]. Howbeit [1161] whereinsoever [1722] [3739] [302] any [5100] is bold [5111], (I speak [3004] foolishly [1722] [877],) I am bold [5111] also [2504].
King James I speak as concerning reproach, as though we had been weak. Howbeit whereinsoever any is bold, (I speak foolishly,) I am bold also.

A Commentary, Critical, Practical, and Explanatory on the Old and New Testaments, by Robert Jamieson, A.R. Fausset and David Brown [1882]
as concerning reproach--rather, "by way of dishonor (that is, self-disparagement) I say it."

as though we . . . weak--in not similarly (Co2 11:20) showing our power over you. "An ironical reminiscence of his own abstinence when among them from all these acts of self-exaltation at their expense" (as if such abstinence was weakness) [ALFORD]. The "we" is emphatically contrasted with the false teachers who so oppressively displayed their power. I speak so as though WE had been weak when with you, because we did not show our power this way. Howbeit (we are not really weak; for), whereinsoever any is bold . . . I am bold also.

20 For [1063] ye suffer [430], if a man [1536] bring [2615] you [5209] into bondage [2615], if a man [1536] devour [2719] you, if a man [1536] take [2983] of you, if a man [1536] exalt himself [1869], if a man [1536] smite [1194] you [5209] on [1519] the face [4383].
6 But [1161] though [1499] I be rude [2399] in speech [3056], yet [235] not [3756] in knowledge [1108]; but [235] we have been throughly [1722] [3956] made manifest [5319] among [1519] you [5209] in [1722] all things [3956].
