A Commentary, Critical, Practical, and Explanatory on the Old and New Testaments, by Robert Jamieson, A.R. Fausset and David Brown [1882]
Neither is worshipped with--ministered unto, served by

men's hands, as though he needed anything--No less familiar as this thought also is to us, even from the earliest times of the Old Testament (Job 35:6, Job 35:8; Psa 16:2-3; Psa 50:12-14; Isa 40:14-18), it would pour a flood of light upon any candid heathen mind that heard it.

seeing he--He Himself.

giveth to all life, and breath, and all things--The Giver of all cannot surely be dependent for aught upon the receivers of all (Ch1 29:14). This is the culminating point of a pure Theism.

14 But who am I, and what is my people [05971], that we should be [06113] able [03581] to offer so willingly [05068] after this sort? for all things come of thee, and of thine own [03027] have we given [05414] thee.
14 With whom took he counsel [03289], and who instructed [0995] him, and taught [03925] him in the path [0734] of judgment [04941], and taught [03925] him knowledge [01847], and shewed [03045] to him the way [01870] of understanding [08394]?
15 Behold, the nations [01471] are as a drop [04752] of a bucket [01805], and are counted [02803] as the small dust [07834] of the balance [03976]: behold, he taketh up [05190] the isles [0339] as a very little thing [01851].
16 And Lebanon [03844] is not [0369] sufficient [01767] to burn [01197], nor the beasts [02416] thereof sufficient [01767] for a burnt offering [05930].
17 All nations [01471] before him are as nothing; and they are counted [02803] to him less than nothing [0657], and vanity [08414].
18 To whom then will ye liken [01819] God [0410]? or what likeness [01823] will ye compare [06186] unto him?
12 If I were hungry [07456], I would not tell [0559] thee: for the world [08398] is mine, and the fulness [04393] thereof.
13 Will I eat [0398] the flesh [01320] of bulls [047], or drink [08354] the blood [01818] of goats [06260]?
14 Offer [02076] unto God [0430] thanksgiving [08426]; and pay [07999] thy vows [05088] unto the most High [05945]:
2 O my soul, thou hast said [0559] unto the LORD [03068], Thou art my Lord [0136]: my goodness [02896] extendeth not to thee;
3 But to the saints [06918] that [01992] are in the earth [0776], and to the excellent [0117], in whom is all my delight [02656].
8 Thy wickedness [07562] may hurt a man [0376] as thou art; and thy righteousness [06666] may profit the son [01121] of man [0120].
6 If thou sinnest [02398], what doest [06466] thou against him? or if thy transgressions [06588] be multiplied [07231], what doest [06213] thou unto him?
36 For [3754] of [1537] him [846], and [2532] through [1223] him [846], and [2532] to [1519] him [846], are all things [3956]: to whom [846] be glory [1391] for [1519] ever [165]. Amen [281].
10 In whose hand [03027] is the soul [05315] of every living thing [02416], and the breath [07307] of all mankind [0376] [01320].
7 And the LORD [03068] God [0430] formed [03335] man [0120] of the dust [06083] of [04480] the ground [0127], and breathed [05301] into his nostrils [0639] the breath [05397] of life [02416]; and man [0120] became a living [02416] soul [05315].
10 For every beast [02416] of the forest [03293] is mine, and the cattle [0929] upon a thousand [0505] hills [02042].
11 I know [03045] all the fowls [05775] of the mountains [02022]: and the wild beasts [02123] of the field [07704] are mine [05978].
12 If I were hungry [07456], I would not tell [0559] thee: for the world [08398] is mine, and the fulness [04393] thereof.
15 But [1161] so much the more [3123] went there [1330] a fame [3056] abroad [1330] of [4012] him [846]: and [2532] great [4183] multitudes [3793] came together [4905] to hear [191], and [2532] to be healed [2323] by [5259] him [846] of [575] their [846] infirmities [769].
