A Commentary, Critical, Practical, and Explanatory on the Old and New Testaments, by Robert Jamieson, A.R. Fausset and David Brown [1882]
Moses' life was an exception (Deu 34:7).

it is . . . cut off--or, "driven," as is said of the quails in using the same word (Num 11:31). In view of this certain and speedy end, life is full of sorrow.

18 And it came to pass, as her soul [05315] was in departing [03318], (for she died [04191] that she called [07121] his name [08034] Benoni [01126]: but his father [01] called [07121] him Benjamin [01144].

13 Bring [0935] no more [03254] vain [07723] oblations [04503]; incense [07004] is an abomination [08441] unto me; the new moons [02320] and sabbaths [07676], the calling [07121] of assemblies [04744], I cannot away with [03201]; it is iniquity [0205], even the solemn meeting [06116].
