Word American Tract Society - Definition
DAMNATION The state of being excluded from God's mercy, and condemned to the everlasting punishment of the wicked. This is now the sense of the word damnation, in our language; but at the time when the Bible was translated, it signified the same as condemnation. The words damn and damnation ought therefore be still so understood, in such passages as Ro 13:2 14:23 1Co 11:29.
