many walk--in such a manner. Follow not evildoers, because they are "many" (Exo 23:2). Their numbers are rather a presumption against their being Christ's "little flock" (Luk 12:32).

often--There is need of constant warning.

weeping-- (Rom 9:2). A hard tone in speaking of the inconsistencies of professors is the very opposite of Paul's spirit, and David's (Psa 119:136), and Jeremiah's (Jer 13:17). The Lord and His apostles, at the same time, speak more strongly against empty professors (as the Pharisees), than against open scoffers.

29 Of how much [4214] sorer [5501] punishment [5098], suppose ye [1380], shall he be thought worthy [515], who [3588] hath trodden under foot [2662] the Son [5207] of God [2316], and [2532] hath counted [2233] the blood [129] of the covenant [1242], wherewith [3739] [1722] he was sanctified [37], an unholy thing [2839], and [2532] hath done despite [1796] unto the Spirit [4151] of grace [5485]?
6 If [2532] they shall fall away [3895], to renew them [340] again [3825] unto [1519] repentance [3341]; seeing they crucify [388] to themselves [1438] the Son [5207] of God [2316] afresh [388], and [2532] put him to an open shame [3856].
14 But [1161] God forbid [3361] [1096] that I [1698] should glory [2744], save [1508] in [1722] the cross [4716] of our [2257] Lord [2962] Jesus [2424] Christ [5547], by [1223] whom [3739] the world [2889] is crucified [4717] unto me [1698], and I [2504] unto the world [2889].
17 But if ye will not hear [08085] it, my soul [05315] shall weep [01058] in secret places [04565] for [06440] your pride [01466]; and mine eye [05869] shall weep [01830] sore [01830], and run down [03381] with tears [01832], because the LORD'S [03068] flock [05739] is carried away captive [07617].
136 Rivers [06388] of waters [04325] run down [03381] mine eyes [05869], because they keep [08104] not thy law [08451].
2 That [3754] I [3427] have [2076] great [3173] heaviness [3077] and [2532] continual [88] sorrow in [3601] my [3450] heart [2588].
32 Fear [5399] not [3361], little [3398] flock [4168]; for [3754] it is [2106] your [5216] Father's [3962] good pleasure [2106] to give [1325] you [5213] the kingdom [932].
2 Thou shalt not follow [0310] a multitude [07227] to do evil [07451]; neither shalt thou speak [06030] in a cause [07379] to decline [05186] after [0310] many [07227] to wrest [05186] judgment:
19 Whose [3739] end [5056] is destruction [684], whose [3739] God [2316] is their belly [2836], and [2532] whose glory [1391] is in [1722] their [846] shame [152], who [3588] mind [5426] earthly things [1919].)
