wrath--the passionate violence with which the friends persecuted Job.

bringeth, &c.--literally, "is sin of the of the sword"

that ye may know--Supply, "I say this."

judgment--inseparably connected with the coming of the Vindicator. The "wrath" of God at His appearing for the temporal vindication of Job against the friends (Job 42:7) is a pledge of the eternal wrath at the final coming to glorify the saints and judge their enemies (Th2 1:6-10; Isa 25:8).

8 He will swallow up [01104] death [04194] in victory [05331]; and the Lord [0136] GOD [03069] will wipe away [04229] tears [01832] from off all faces [06440]; and the rebuke [02781] of his people [05971] shall he take away [05493] from off all the earth [0776]: for the LORD [03068] hath spoken [01696] it.
6 Seeing [1512] it is a righteous thing [1342] with [3844] God [2316] to recompense [467] tribulation [2347] to them that trouble [2346] you [5209];
7 And [2532] to you [5213] who are troubled [2346] rest [425] with [3326] us [2257], when [1722] the Lord [2962] Jesus [2424] shall be revealed [602] from [575] heaven [3772] with [3326] his [846] mighty [1411] angels [32],
8 In [1722] flaming [5395] fire [4442] taking [1325] vengeance [1557] on them that know [1492] not [3361] God [2316], and [2532] that obey [5219] not [3361] the gospel [2098] of our [2257] Lord [2962] Jesus [2424] Christ [5547]:
9 Who [3748] shall be punished [1349] [5099] with everlasting [166] destruction [3639] from [575] the presence [4383] of the Lord [2962], and [2532] from [575] the glory [1391] of his [846] power [2479];
10 When [3752] he shall come [2064] to be glorified [1740] in [1722] his [846] saints [40], and [2532] to be admired [2296] in [1722] all [3956] them that believe [4100] (because [3754] our [2257] testimony [3142] among [1909] you [5209] was believed [4100] in [1722] that [1565] day [2250].
7 And it was so, that after [0310] the LORD [03068] had spoken [01696] these words [01697] unto Job [0347], the LORD [03068] said [0559] to Eliphaz [0464] the Temanite [08489], My wrath [0639] is kindled [02734] against thee, and against thy two [08147] friends [07453]: for ye have not spoken [01696] of me the thing that is right [03559], as my servant [05650] Job [0347] hath.
41 If I whet [08150] my glittering [01300] sword [02719], and mine hand [03027] take hold [0270] on judgment [04941]; I will render [07725] vengeance [05359] to mine enemies [06862], and will reward [07999] them that hate [08130] me.
29 Be ye afraid [01481] of the sword [02719]: for wrath [02534] bringeth the punishments [05771] of [06440] the sword [02719], that ye may know [03045] there is a judgment [01779] [01779].
28 But ye should say [0559], Why persecute [07291] we him, seeing the root [08328] of the matter [01697] is found [04672] in me?
27 Whom I shall see [02372] for myself, and mine eyes [05869] shall behold [07200], and not another [02114]; though my reins [03629] be consumed [03615] within [02436] me.
26 And though after [0310] my skin [05785] worms destroy [05362] this body, yet in my flesh [01320] shall I see [02372] God [0433]:
25 For I know [03045] that my redeemer [01350] liveth [02416], and that he shall stand [06965] at the latter [0314] day upon the earth [06083]:
8 Wilt thou also disannul [06565] my judgment [04941]? wilt thou condemn [07561] me, that thou mayest be righteous [06663]?
7 Gird up [0247] thy loins [02504] now like a man [01397]: I will demand [07592] of thee, and declare [03045] thou unto me.
27 The heaven [08064] shall reveal [01540] his iniquity [05771]; and the earth [0776] shall rise up [06965] against him.
25 For I know [03045] that my redeemer [01350] liveth [02416], and that he shall stand [06965] at the latter [0314] day upon the earth [06083]:
26 And though after [0310] my skin [05785] worms destroy [05362] this body, yet in my flesh [01320] shall I see [02372] God [0433]:
27 Whom I shall see [02372] for myself, and mine eyes [05869] shall behold [07200], and not another [02114]; though my reins [03629] be consumed [03615] within [02436] me.
28 But ye should say [0559], Why persecute [07291] we him, seeing the root [08328] of the matter [01697] is found [04672] in me?
29 Be ye afraid [01481] of the sword [02719]: for wrath [02534] bringeth the punishments [05771] of [06440] the sword [02719], that ye may know [03045] there is a judgment [01779] [01779].
19 Also now, behold, my witness [05707] is in heaven [08064], and my record [07717] is on high [04791].
5 My flesh [01320] is clothed [03847] with worms [07415] and clods [01487] of dust [06083]; my skin [05785] is broken [07280], and become loathsome [03988].
8 And he took [03947] him a potsherd [02789] to scrape [01623] himself withal; and he sat down [03427] among [08432] the ashes [0665].
7 So went [03318] Satan [07854] forth [03318] from the presence [06440] of the LORD [03068], and smote [05221] Job [0347] with sore [07451] boils [07822] from the sole [03709] of his foot [07272] unto his crown [06936].
1 After [0310] this opened [06605] Job [0347] his mouth [06310], and cursed [07043] his day [03117].
2 And Job [0347] spake [06030], and said [0559],
3 Let the day [03117] perish [06] wherein I was born [03205], and the night [03915] in which it was said [0559], There is a man child [01397] conceived [02029].
7 O remember [02142] that my life [02416] is wind [07307]: mine eye [05869] shall no more [07725] see [07200] good [02896].
10 He hath destroyed [05422] me on every side [05439], and I am gone [03212]: and mine hope [08615] hath he removed [05265] like a tree [06086].
11 My days [03117] are past [05674], my purposes [02154] are broken off [05423], even the thoughts [04180] of my heart [03824].
12 They change [07760] the night [03915] into day [03117]: the light [0216] is short [07138] because [06440] of darkness [02822].
13 If I wait [06960], the grave [07585] is mine house [01004]: I have made [07502] my bed [03326] in the darkness [02822].
14 I have said [07121] to corruption [07845], Thou art my father [01]: to the worm [07415], Thou art my mother [0517], and my sister [0269].
15 And where is now [0645] my hope [08615]? as for my hope [08615], who shall see [07789] it?
21 And why dost thou not pardon [05375] my transgression [06588], and take away [05674] mine iniquity [05771]? for now shall I sleep [07901] in the dust [06083]; and thou shalt seek me in the morning [07836], but I shall not be.
11 What is my strength [03581], that I should hope [03176]? and what is mine end [07093], that I should prolong [0748] my life [05315]?
