A Commentary, Critical, Practical, and Explanatory on the Old and New Testaments, by Robert Jamieson, A.R. Fausset and David Brown [1882]
Gederoth--on the Philistine frontier (Jos 15:41).

Shocho--or Socoh (Jos 15:35), now Shuweikeh, a town in the Valley of Judah (see on Sa1 17:1).

Gimzo--now Jimza, a little east of Ludd (Lydda) [ROBINSON]. All these disasters, by which the "Lord brought Judah low," were because of Ahaz, king of Israel (Judah), see Ch2 21:2; Ch2 24:16; Ch2 28:27, who made Judah naked, and transgressed sore against the Lord.

2 And he had brethren [0251] the sons [01121] of Jehoshaphat [03092], Azariah [05838], and Jehiel [03171], and Zechariah [02148], and Azariah [05838], and Michael [04317], and Shephatiah [08203]: all these were the sons [01121] of Jehoshaphat [03092] king [04428] of Israel [03478].
1 Now the Philistines [06430] gathered together [0622] their armies [04264] to battle [04421], and were gathered together [0622] at Shochoh [07755], which belongeth to Judah [03063], and pitched [02583] between Shochoh [07755] and Azekah [05825], in Ephesdammim [0658].

21 So Joash [03101] the king [04428] of Israel [03478] went up [05927]; and they saw one another [07200] in the face [06440], both he and Amaziah [0558] king [04428] of Judah [03063], at Bethshemesh [01053], which belongeth to Judah [03063].
