you--The oldest manuscripts read, "us."

by our gospel--"through" the Gospel which we preach.

to . . . glory--In Th2 2:13 it was "salvation," that is, deliverance from all evil, of body and soul (Th1 5:9); here it is positive good, even "glory," and that "the glory of our Lord Jesus" Himself, which believers are privileged to share with Him (Joh 17:22, Joh 17:24; Rom 8:17, Rom 8:29; Ti2 2:10).

10 Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
