it ceaseth for ever--that is, the ransom fails, the price is too precious, costly.

30 Thus the LORD saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians; and Israel saw the Egyptians dead upon the sea shore.
20 And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the LORD.
