freewill offerings--the spontaneous expressions of his gratitude, as contrasted with the appointed "offerings" of the temple (Hos 14:2; Heb 13:15). He determines to pursue this way, relying on God's quickening power (Psa 119:50) in affliction, and a gracious acceptance of his "spiritual sacrifices of prayer and praise" (Psa 50:5, Psa 50:14, Psa 50:23).

23 Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God.
14 Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High:
5 Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.
50 This is my comfort in my affliction: for thy word hath quickened me.
15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.
2 Take with you words, and turn to the LORD: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips.
12 Blessed art thou, O LORD: teach me thy statutes.
15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.
3 Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.
